I have been an Alto I with Canto Deo since its inception. I am Catholic and was invited by a friend to audition for this new choir.  Having never auditioned before I was nervous but excited for a chance to sing.
For over 20 years,  I have been singing in the choir and Cantor with my trio “Voices In Praise” for masses at Risen Christ Catholic Church
True story – I always thought I was tone deaf (thanks to my sister growing up) but felt a calling at church one day.  So, at the age of 30 I decided that somehow, I could hide behind someone and joined the choir.  God is good!

I am a wife, mother of three, and grandmother to two beautiful little girls. Among my favorite things to do are looking after my grands, go to Rockies games, golf, participate in a Bible study, read, walk, sew and sing! I have always loved music and have been in various choirs since high school. Sacred music fills my soul. God uses music to comfort me, bring me joy and hope, and assure me of His presence always. I love rehearsing and performing the amazing pieces Jonathan chooses for each of our concerts, and my prayer is that each person who attends one of Canto Deo’s concerts is indeed blessed.

Mary Anne is a charter member as well as the choir manager of Canto Deo. She was raised in a household in which music took a primary role and was singing in choirs from elementary school to now. Mary Anne has also played flute for Canto Deo on several occasions. She is a retired dentist and currently works as an Energy Medicine and Feng Shui consultant.

Myka has more than 45 years of musical experience, starting with her first piano lesson at age 4. She has more than 40 years of experience singing with choirs and small groups, including both Sing Band and First Light at St. James Presbyterian Church. She currently serves as the accompanist for Sing Band and plays with Campana, the handbell choir. In her “spare time,” she teaches science to 7th graders.

Rachel teaches middle school math and sometimes Spanish, and loves (nearly) every minute of it. When she’s not teaching, Rachel sings with Canto Deo and directs the choir at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Parish. Expressing love for God through music is one of her favorite things and she couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunities to sing with Canto Deo and each Sunday at Mass!
