DESCRIPTION:This year\, Canto Deo celebrates our 20th year of sharing sacred choral music with the Denver community!  To open the 2026-2027 season\, Canto Deo’s Chamber Choir will present our 20th annual Advent Service of Lessons & Carols on Saturday\, November 28\, 2026\, 7:00pm\, at Holy Ghost Church\, 1900 California St.\, Denver\, and again on Sunday\, November 29\, 2026\, 3:00pm\, at Bethany Lutheran Church\, 4500 E. Hampden Ave.\, Cherry Hills Village.  This contemplative service begins with the prophets’ ancient plea\, “Drop down\, ye heavens\, from above” set by Judith Weir\, and also features new works\, like Kerensa Briggs’ “A Tender Shoot” and Laura Sheils’ “Adam Lay Ybounden.”  The Advent season encourages us to look ahead to the arrival of the promised Messiah and to new life.  By mingling old and new texts and melodies\, this service invites us to slow down\, listen for God’s word\, and to our own heart’s reply. \nNo tickets are required.
